Hyundai quoted me for a clutch and I nearly fell off my chair
Quote from brintonhocking on October 17, 2026, 1:03 amMy i30's clutch has been slipping for a couple of weeks now, revs climbing without the car actually accelerating properly, and I know it needs doing before it leaves me stranded. The dealer quote was honestly absurd for what's a fairly ordinary hatchback, so I'm looking elsewhere. Problem is I don't want to go too cheap and end up with a clutch that shudders or fails in six months, since that's the classic false economy. I'm looking for Affordable Hyundai repair in Dubai but I'm trying to work out where the line is between reasonable and risky. Has anyone had a clutch replaced on an i30 or similar and what did you pay? Also, is it worth doing the release bearing and flywheel at the same time or is that just something garages say to bump up the bill?
