Need a reliable hand pallet truck for our daily warehouse work
Quote from brintonhocking on July 7, 2026, 4:38 amWe run a medium-sized warehouse in Dubai Industrial City and we're looking to add another hand pallet truck to our equipment lineup. Our current one is about five years old and it's starting to show its age the hydraulic pump is sluggish, the wheels are worn down, and it's just not as efficient as it used to be. I've been looking at replacements and found a good selection on the Crateco website https://www.crateco.ae/category-products-list/trolleys-and-hydraulic-equipments. The section on trolleys and hydraulic equipment shows a few different hand pallet truck models with capacities ranging from 2.5 to 3 tons, which would cover our needs since we typically move pallets weighing around 1.5 to 2 tons. I'm particularly interested in the models with polyurethane wheels because they're supposed to be quieter and more floor-friendly than nylon ones, which is important since we have polished concrete floors. The steel-reinforced forks look sturdy enough for daily use, and the ergonomic handle design seems like it would reduce strain on our operators. But I'm not sure about the difference in fork lengths and widths some are 1150mm long and others are 1220mm, and I'm wondering which one would work better for our standard pallets. Also, does anyone have experience with the 3-ton models versus the 2.5-ton ones in terms of maneuverability? I'd appreciate any advice from people who've used these trucks in a similar warehouse environment before I make a decision.
