Range Rover Velar AC works fine at night but gets weak under the sun, normal?
I have a question about my car, and I hope other owners can tell me if this is normal. I have a 2019 Range Rover Velar and I use it every day to drive to work and take my kids to school. At night and early in the morning the AC is strong and cold, almost too cold. But around noon, when the sun is very hot, the air gets weaker, and by the time I pick up the kids, the back seat feels warm. My kids complain a lot, and my wife keeps asking me to turn it up, but it is already on maximum. My brother says it is just the big glass roof and the strong sun, so I should not worry. My friend has an older Sport and he said a healthy system should still handle the midday heat, and that something small like a dirty front part or a weak fan could be the cause. I did not know who to believe, so one night I read about it online. I opened a page about Range Rover cars on a Sharjah website to learn how the condenser, the fan and the gas work together in hot weather. It said that dust and sand can slowly block the front of the car, and that the AC loses power first when the sun is strongest. That made sense to me, because I drive on dusty roads a lot. Then a coworker told me to look for an Exclusive Range Rover AC service in Sharjah and ask them to clean the front and check the pressure before they add any gas. I liked that advice because I do not want to pay for gas I may not need. So I have some questions. Is it normal for the AC to get weaker at noon even when everything is fine, or does it point to a problem? Can I clean the front of the car myself with water, or is it risky? How cold should the vents feel on a very hot day? And about how long does a normal AC service take, and what is a fair price?
